Our instructors are filled with a passion for archery and have competed internationally. Our Archery for Beginners sessions are an amazing opportunity for anyone to come and try their hand for the first time and be tutored by some great talent.

 The Introduction to Archery Courses are usually held on the first Sunday of each month except for dates that clash with Club/State events.

Listed below are the dates for each course.

7 Jan, 4 Feb, 3 Mar, 7 Apr, 5 May, 2 Jun, 4 Aug, 8 Sept, 6 Oct, 3 Nov, 1 Dec.

Courses are limited to 10 places. Once a course is full, no further entries can be done online for that date and you will need to wait for next month’s enrolment. No refunds for failure to attend unless arrangements are made prior to the course date.
Should weather affect any of these dates please attend the next month’s course.
What: On payment and completion of a Temporary Membership Form you will be entitled to attend the club for a period of one month from the date of the course. After this date full membership to the club through the Archery Australia website is mandatory.

When: no later then 7:45am
Please Bring:
  • Hat
  • Closed in shoes
  • Sunscreen
  • Water
  • Fitted sleeved shirt (no loose/baggy shirts/singlets, as this will interfere with your shooting)
Please Note:

Parents or Guardians of children must remain in attendance for the duration of the activity.
Currently, there is no toilet at the grounds, however, there is a public toilet in a park 800 metres away.
Qld Gov. “Get Started” vouchers are now available through:https://www.qld.gov.au/recreation/sports/funding/getinthegame/getstarted/
A single “Get Started” voucher will entitle the bearer to one year membership to Archery Australia/North Queensland Archery Association/Townsville Target Archers with two consecutive weeks following the course to free use of club equipment.

All the archery equipment needed to undertake tuition is supplied by the Club. (It is recommended you do not rush out and buy archery equipment until you have completed the course; there is a bewildering myriad of options available! But, by all means, do have a look.)
